我喜歡補習的最大原因？😁

Starting at the age of 14, teaching and tutoring students has always been a pleasure, something I could do on the weekends to take a break from academia. Being a pre-medical school student has allowed me to experience first hand the importance of quality education, and has enabled me to acknowledge that every student learns best in their own way. I find that it is particularly rewarding to give a student the opportunity to explore how they learn best, and how their understanding improves when implementing their own studying methods and habits. Being able to get to know a student and advise them on their own educational journey as a role model is why I do what I do.

I believe my strengths as a tutor lie in my ability to foster a positive environment where students are able to express themselves freely and learn by their own means. This enables students to understand how they can enjoy education, thus developing a life-long passion for the pursuit of knowledge and understanding. In addition, through my experiences as a tutor I have learnt that empathy can play a prominent role in a student's ability to get along with a teacher and develop a positive attitude towards learning.

Maintaining a compassionate teacher-student relationship can positively impact a students attitude and feelings towards their education. I believe it is important to regularly revisit and acknowledge the students progress, allowing the student to be fully aware of their strengths and weaknesses which can promote focused and goal-oriented learning. In addition, it is essential for a tutor to ensure the student is in an environment where they are not afraid to make mistakes, or clarify their understanding of any subject material. This is imperative to ensure the student can make the best use of their lessons, and learn in the most efficient and functional manner possible.

Hey! My name is Shaun, I am a first year student studying Biomedical Sciences at The University of Hong Kong. Currently, I am a pre-med student at HKU. When I'm not indulging in the science behind Human Anatomy or understanding how quantum theory applies to Chemistry, I enjoy teaching, indulging in painting and playing lacrosse with my buddies.

I have several experiences as a tutor, teaching younger primary and secondary students English and Mathematics at both Showtime Learning Centre and Tsung Tsin Primary School and Kindergarten. In addition, I have privately tutored students aged 11-19 English Language and Literature and Business (up to IB and DSE level), Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics (up to IGCSE level).
